London-based AI startup Tallia, formerly known as Revax, has secured €4 million ($4.5 million) in Seed funding to expand its AI-powered research and drafting platform for tax and accountancy professionals.

The round was co-led by Outward VC and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), with participation from Portfolio Ventures, Expedite Capital, Paul Forster, Angus Miln and several angel investors.

“We are delighted to support co-founders Jack Mander and Alex Bartlam, building trusted AI systems for ambitious tax teams,” said Outward VC in a public statement.

The funding follows several European investments in AI-powered tax and accounting technology during 2026.

Germany’s mika raised €6 million to develop its AI-native accounting and tax platform, while Belgium’s Dytto secured €1.5 million for an AI assistant supporting accounting firms. Italy’s A-Cube attracted €4 million for digital tax compliance, and UK-based Zalos raised €3.1 million for AI-driven enterprise finance automation.

Together with Tallia, funding in this space during 2026 reached approximately €35.6 million in financing.

Founded in 2025 by school friends Jack Mander and Alexander Bartlam, Tallia combines experience in professional tax advisory with expertise in engineering and technology.

The founders established Tallia to address a challenge facing tax professionals: how to use generative AI to accelerate research and drafting without compromising the accuracy, traceability and professional judgement required when advising clients.

Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, Tallia has been designed around the requirements of tax practices, where answers must be supported by legislation, regulatory guidance and case law. Its platform uses a custom retrieval system to connect AI-generated responses with relevant tax authorities, helping advisers verify the information before incorporating it into client deliverables.

One of the platform’s central features is its ability to combine external tax knowledge with a firm’s internal expertise. By connecting to existing documents, contracts, templates and previous work, Tallia aims to enable advisers to produce research and drafts that reflect their organisation’s established practices and knowledge.

The technology also incorporates structured review workflows, allowing senior professionals to examine the reasoning and supporting evidence behind AI-generated work.

The platform supports workflows across Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, allowing tax professionals to incorporate AI-assisted research and drafting into familiar software. According to Tallia, its system can produce a fully cited first draft in an average of 30 seconds, while teams using the platform save an average of five hours per fee earner each week.

With its new funding, Tallia intends to expand adoption of its platform among tax and accountancy firms, helping professionals spend less time on repetitive research and initial drafting while retaining control over the advice delivered to clients.
