The MGM Grand Buffet is expected to close permanently after its last business day on May 31, marking the close of another buffet in Las Vegas.
“There are no immediate plans for the space at this time,” MGM said in a press release.
Not long ago, buffets were a staple of Nevada cuisine — even named one of the state’s most iconic dishes by the Food Network. About 70 buffets operated on the Las Vegas Strip during their heyday. After MGM closes its buffet, fewer than 10 will remain on the Strip.
Here’s a look at what buffets are still open in Southern Nevada.
Buffets Still Open Off the Strip
Despite the drop in Las Vegas’ buffet numbers, several spots remain open away from the Strip, according to Visit Las Vegas:
- A.Y.C.E Buffet — Located in the Palms at 4321 W. Flamingo Rd., this buffet features brunch specials, prime rib, and snow crab.
- Garden Buffet — At South Point Casino (9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South), offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and seafood.
- Garden Court Buffet — Main Street Station also has a buffet at 200 N. Main St.
- Market Place Buffet — The Resort at Summerlin (221 N. Rampart Blvd.) offers deli, prime rib dinner, and champagne brunch options.
Buffets Still Open on the Las Vegas Strip
- Bacchanal Buffet — Despite rumors last year, the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace remains open and bills itself as “the largest buffet in Las Vegas.”
- The Buffet at Bellagio — Offers Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and American cuisines.
- The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas — Features barbecue, seafood, and a daily gourmet brunch.
- Excalibur Buffet — Open for brunch only, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Wicked Spoon Buffet — Inside The Cosmopolitan, offering seasonal dishes and classic buffet fare.
