The Block 2026: Every room reveal from The Block Mount Eliza

The Block is back for 2026 and for the first time in the show’s 22 year history, the five homes will showcase spectacular water views, thanks to Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula coastline.

The Blockheads will be building brand new luxury homes in the beachside suburb of Mount Eliza, which is renowned for its prestigious real estate.

This season marks the second time in the hit renovation show’s history that the homes are new builds.

This year, the homes are set within two precincts – Uptown and Downtown. Perched to capture sweeping bay and city views, Uptown features Houses 1, 2 and 3 which each sit on about 1000sqm of land.

Downtown encompasses Houses 4 and 5, which offer partial water views and land sizes of about 1000 square metres and 1435 square metres, respectively.

Host Scott Cam has returned for his 20th season, and judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox are back to share their feedback, advice and critiques.

Week Four: Main ensuite

Main ensuite week saw one team finally hit their stride, taking out a win for their efforts – though it took a gnome bonus point to get over the line.

Here’s a look at the room reveals and what the judges had to say:

House 1: Adam and Jolene’s main ensuite reveal

Score: 21

If the bathroom had been fully completed, all judges agreed the layout, tiling choices, skylights and inclusions would have seen it as a candidate to win.

“In terms of inclusion and amenity, they would have ticked every single possible box,” Darren said.

Marty labelled it “a hot bathroom” which would sell well.

“I think their layout is brilliant. I think the colour palette is brilliant and if they did finish, it could be the contender for the day, without a doubt,” Shaynna said.

House 2: Chantel & Wyatt’s main ensuite reveal

Score: 25.5

Dubbing it very “Mt Eliza,” calm and elegant, the judges were impressed with Chantel and Wyatt’s efforts.

Darren, in particular, was thrilled with their styling efforts: “If this is where we’re going with the kitchen come kitchen week. That fills me with hope and joy.”

While Shaynna loved the layout and sense of space, she said it was marketable and conservative but also predictable.

“Honestly, I have seen a million of these bathrooms. Will Mt Eliza love it? Yes, they will. But this is an opportunity of a building that could be over $4 million, and to have something just a little bit more unique,” she said.

House 3: Lisa and Rosco’s main ensuite reveal

Score: 20.5

The faux paving flooring choice was criticised by the judging trio, with Marty dubbing it Flintstone cartoon-like and weird.

“This floor in crazy paving, it would be authentic. This, however, is jarring,” Darren said.

“It almost looks like a driveway that you had a pattern stamp on, and because it’s around all these elements, there’s too much going on,” Shaynna said.

Marty likened all the different finishes to his children walking in and throwing things at the wall.

House 4: Courtney and Sev’s main ensuite reveal

Score: 25

Simple, elegant and expensive were among the praise hailed by the judges.

“It’s a really lovely finish, and it’s absolutely right for the market. That floor tile and this benchtop could not have been better together. Yum!” Darren said.

However, Courtney and Sev were criticised for their lavish choices, with Darren noting the walls and ceiling were covered in a very expensive finish.

“It’s not spending the money on a feature that’s the problem. It’s overusing the feature, and that’s wasting budget, and they are going to really, really feel it, and it’s going to bite them in the ass,” he said.

The placement of a bench seat in the shower also drew criticism as it was restricted space wise.

“I feel like I’m sitting in a bus stop,” Marty said.

House 5: Rick and Tayla’s winning main ensuite reveal

Score: 26

The father and daughter duo secured their first winning room reveal after playing their bonus point gnome to edge out House 2’s Chantel and Wyatt by half a point.

“I think using the same tile everywhere succeeds. It feels very coastal. It feels very beach. It looks like a landscape from above. I think it’s really, really great,” Darren said.

Marty praised it as luxurious, classy and appropriate for the location.

“It’s the Goldilocks of everything that we’ve seen today,” Darren said.

Week Three: Main bedroom and and walk-in robe

Main bedroom and walk-in robe week saw a massive fall from grace from one team while another walked away with their first win for the season.

Here is a look at the room reveals and what the judges had to say:

House 1: Adam and Jolene’s main bedroom and walk-in robe reveal

Score: 25

The judges were full of praise upon stepping foot into the walk-in robe with the rendered wall, extensive wardrobe storage and a seated area instant hits.

“I am extremely satisfied with all these inputs,” Darren said

“And it does complement the other two rooms, but it then is elevated, which is what you need to see in that main bedroom,” Marty added.

The main bedroom was commended by Shaynna for its shape, colours and textures but she did not like that the view from the bed took in a laundry hamper which should have been in the wardrobe.

Styling issues including the placement of two big chairs and a rug simply needed a simple edit.

“I feel like they’ve got an understanding, and they said ‘This is how we are defining coastal luxury in this home’, and I think they are 90% of getting that absolutely right,” Darren said.

House 2: Chantel & Wyatt’s main bedroom and walk-in robe reveal

Score: 25

Absolutely zero styling in the walk-in robe due to running out of time disappointed the judges, with Marty noting it lacked emotion and was “just a bit boring.”

“I think for me, their eye for detail hasn’t come through yet,” Shaynna said.

“And when we’re going white carpet, a very white sort of marble look, we’re going for white, white, white. I just think it feels very clinical.”

The main bedroom drew high praise with Darren loving the bed, the cushioning and its simplicity and Shaynna said they “100% nailed” it.

“It really is chalk and cheese, from what we’ve just seen,” Marty said.

“It’s minimalist, but it’s architectural. It’s not overdone.”

House 3: Lisa and Rosco’s winning main bedroom and walk-in robe reveal

Score: 27

Winning their first room reveal of the season, Lisa and Rosco’s walk-in robe drew huge accolades.

“It absolutely ticks the description of quiet luxury, and it definitely feels coastal. So it’s like tick, tick, tick, tick, tick,” Darren said.

A curve in the wall behind the bed was a hit for its homage to the nearby coastline.

“I think of the beach when I look at it,” Marty said, who praised the room’s minimalism and pops of colour and tones.

Marty said it was a space hard to fault until Shaynna noted there was no blackout blind or curtain.

“This very nearly, is perfect,” Darren said.

House 4: Courtney and Sev’s main bedroom and walk-in robe reveal

Score: 17

The girls broke their back-to-back winning streak with the judges slamming much of their efforts this week.

The walk-in robe was originally designed by Lisa and Rosco after the girls swapped to House 4 after winning the house decider challenge earlier in the season.

“I can’t believe they’ve given up House 3. But then they’ve adopted this,” Marty said of the cramped unpainted walk-in robe.

“And to be frank, walking into such a filthy space isn’t a nice feeling. It doesn’t feel good being in here.”

The main bedroom drew savage comments with Shaynna likening the ruched bedhead to a “high-end coffin.”

“I feel like the bodies need to be laid to rest on that bed,” she said.

Darren also noted the plastering in the ceiling detail will need redoing, while Marty could not get past the “terrible” tiling to the fireplace.

House 5: Rick and Tayla’s main bedroom and walk-in robe reveal

Score: 22

The judges said the father and daughter duo wasted money on Venetian plaster in the walk-in robe and criticised a stapled curtain.

Moving into the main bedroom, the judges were quick to notice the wrong sized curtains but liked the addition of the blockout blinds.

While Shaynna liked the architectural details of the room, she said the styling let it down.

“They’re the wrong bedside lamps and the wrong bedside tables and the fact that we have double pendants over almost the identical lamps is just throwing everything at it,” she said.

However, Darren said there was nothing majorly structural to fix and a few tweaks to the décor was all the room needed.

Week Two: Family bathroom

After winning week one – the house decider challenge – Courtney and Sev got first pick of the house they will renovate for the rest of the season.

They chose House 4, swapping with Lisa and Rosco who’ve moved into House 3, while everyone else remained where they were.

• House 4: Courtney and Sev
• House 5: Rick and Tayla

This week, each Blockhead was tasked with identical floorplans across the uptown and downtown houses.

With a $250,000 kitchen upgrade up for grabs, it was a week of highs and lows for the teams, with unfinished spaces and budget blow outs.

Here is a look at the room reveals and what the judges had to say:

House 1: Adam and Jolene’s family bathroom reveal

Score: 24.5

Choosing to omit the powder room door baffled the judges with Shaynna noting how a floorplan can make or break a house and a room.

“We’ve walked into this and beautiful stonework, beautiful vanity, beautiful basin, everything state of the art and LED mirror, and we can’t even talk about it because if you’ve got the floor plan wrong, all these incredible finishes become second, third, fourth,” she said.

However, Marty said it would not ruin sales campaign because of the level of finish and the materiality in the palette.

House 2: Chantel & Wyatt’s family bathroom reveal

Score: 21.5

Entry and powder room doors that clashed puzzled the judges and the bathroom’s luxury inclusions were not given enough consideration.

Shaynna said there was nothing luxury about the bath’s placement being jammed up against both walls.

“This is where minimalism can go completely wrong, in the fact that you keep it stark and simple, but it becomes almost boring, prison-like, and that’s what this is here,” she said.

House 3: Lisa and Rosco’s family bathroom reveal

Score: 15.5

Two completely unfinished spaces saw the judges provide feedback on the layout, which was probably the best of what they had seen thus far.

“It’s my favourite bathroom today. I love the layout. I love the vanity,” Marty said.

Darren said despite “zero points” for the spaces being well finished, it was still exceptionally well designed.

House 4: Courtney and Sev’s winning family bathroom reveal

Score:  25.5

Taking out the win for the second week in a row, Courtney and Sev also won the $250,000 kitchen upgrade prize.

“Look at this marble. Like that is a lot of money thrown into a powder room, and the curve in the wall, and all rendered beautifully,” Shaynna said.

In the bathroom, Darren loved the Velux and said there was a lot to love because the team had done a lot.

“They’ve literally pulled everything out of their repertoire and thrown it in here, and it’s landed perfectly,” he said.

House 5: Rick and Tayla’s family bathroom and powder room reveal

Score: 18.5

A completely unfinished powder room and a “70% done” bathroom left the judges with a mix of criticism and some praise.

Downlights were in the correct spot, the wall tiles near the vanity were stunning, and Darren said he liked as many things about this room as those he did not.

Shaynna said the styling was too much and did not like the dried flowers, the bath mat or the towels.

 “So I feel like yes, they haven’t finished there’s quite a few details that they need to redo, but they’re on a much better trajectory than what they were last week,” Shaynna said.

“House 5 has shown us that they’ve got an approach that isn’t the same as everybody else, and if they take decisions like this, add it to their approach all the way through the house, they will set themselves apart, and they will be memorable and marketed,” Darren said.

Week One: Guest bedroom

For their Week One room reveal, the Blockheads were tasked with creating a guest bedroom with the winning team getting first pick of which house will be theirs to overhaul for the next 12 weeks.

Here’s a look at the room reveals and what the judges had to say.

House 1: Adam and Jolene’s guest bedroom reveal

Score: 22

The pair’s efforts for the first week were praised, with Marty noting their success in playing it safe with a luxury palette.

“It’s easy to shoot. It doesn’t offend anyone. I think it’s great,” he said.

Teaming aged bronze to match the wardrobe and door handles, in addition to elements of quilting, crochet and embroidery, showed Shaynna that Adam and Jolene had a “good eye” for textures layers.

“For this first week, I feel like they understand the brief and that they are showing us who they are,” she said.

House 2: Chantel & Wyatt’s guest bedroom reveal

Score: 20

Dubbed “Mount Eliza 35 years ago” by Shaynna, Chantel and Wyatt were widely criticised for missing the brief and not doing their research.

Their painting efforts also missed the mark with Marty noting in week one it should be perfect.

“You’re not tired. You’re not depleted, like just nail it,” he said.

House 3: Courtney & Sev’s winning guest bedroom reveal

Score: 26

Setting the benchmark so far for the season, Sev and Courtney’s ruched, suede style padded wall bedhead instantly impressed the judges.

“These guys are thinking outside of the box,” Shaynna said.

“This is so different, and this is really engaging the senses,” Marty added.

The wall sconces, textured ceiling, a marbled ledge and attention to detail were all highly applauded.

“They’re giving themselves work though, because if this is the quality of the guest bedroom, imagine the living, the main. This could go next level,” Marty said.

House 4: Lisa & Rosco’s guest bedroom reveal

Score: 19.5

Upon walking into the room, Marty was faced with several elements including a crooked wall niche, panelling and painting that to him, did not work.

“There’s no architectural flair. It’s mis-matchy. It’s crooked. It’s wrong,” he said.

Shaynna found some positives and said if you looked at the elements in the room on a mood board, it would work.

“In the fact you’ve got beautiful textures, like I love the carpet, but I think what brings it down is the materials,” she said.

House 5: Rick & Tayla’s guest bedroom reveal

Score: 17

The judges slammed the room, going as far as saying the father and daughter duo were “unworthy of The Block.”

“I think there’s three great things about this room: the carpet, the wardrobes, and the door to leave,” Marty noted.

Furniture too big for the room, a bed with no slats, ill placed lights and switches, and a dirty wardrobe were amongst the long list of judges’ criticisms.

“This says panic to me, this says ‘I don’t know what I am doing’ and this also says ‘I don’t know who my buyer is’ as well,” Shyanna said.
