The Block 2026 Episode 35 recap: Dishesgate continues as Sev braces herself for Jolene blowback

The fallout from family dinner continues with Chantel and Wyatt discovering Jolene’s snarky note. Fed up that the pair aren’t pulling their weight — except to build their biceps at the gym— Jolene dumped Wyatt’s protein powder in the rubbish and left Chantel’s congealed oats bowl on the bench alongside a terse letter telling her to clean up after herself.

It wasn’t just Jolene who was annoyed by the Gold Coasters’ inaction; Lisa also vented, pointing out that despite attending every family dinner, they have washed the pots zero times, while Jolene quipped that they must live with a maid.

Chantel and Wyatt were seemingly oblivious to the growing swell of resentment towards their laziness, so the unsigned note hit hard.

Chantel justified never helping with communal chores by claiming she only uses one bowl and one spoon, conveniently ignoring that she rarely washes them anyway, choosing instead to stack them dirty in the car or leave them in the sink to soak.

Wyatt, initially unbothered by the assault on his protein reserves since he had plenty stashed in the pantry, countered that he often wakes up to find leftover wine glasses in the sink without throwing a fit — though he doesn’t appear to clean those either.

Wyatt puts a passive aggressive sign on the fridge.

In retaliation, Wyatt stuck a succinct “eat my a***” note to the fridge, softening the scrawl with a smiley face. Thinking better of his handiwork, Chantel took it down and posted a more conciliatory message promising to tidy up, but she couldn’t resist spilling the tea to Courtney and Sev that the others had been gossiping about them over dinner.

Determined to find who wrote the letter, Chantel questioned the group. Everyone, including Jolene, denied ownership until Adam emerged and bravely took the fall for his wife’s poison pen, doubling down on the sentiment and urging Chantel to contribute more. Chantel merely shrugged off the advice, labelling her housemates as “psycho” for flipping out over a single bowl.

Rather than being grateful for Adam taking the bullet, Jolene cracked it at her husband, insisting she didn’t want him speaking on her behalf or “p***yfooting” around. She claimed hiding her identity was about messing with them, though Chantel had already figured out the truth and declared Jolene a “b***h” whom she planned to ignore entirely.

Meanwhile, the penny began to drop for Wyatt that his protein powder had been sabotaged by the enraged Jolene.

Sev felt the mean and aggressive behaviour robbed the shine from their victory, prompting her to confront Lisa. Lisa explained it wasn’t personal and urged Sev to question Chantel’s motivations for stirring up trouble, noting that the resulting rift was only growing larger.

Dinner table fallout aside, everyone was busily prepping for Thursday night, when 100 prospective buyers would inspect the homes and vote on their favourite, awarding the winner $50,000.

Eager to stand out from the crowd at the inspections, Tayla came up with a novel way to leave a lasting mark on her visitors. A tattooist.

“The vibe is going to be classy and posh but with tattoos,” she explained.

Courtney and Sev also have a trick up their sleeve (and it doesn’t involve ink).

Risking Jolene’s wrath, Sev installed a copycat mirror wall in their redo lounge room.

“I prefer to see it as inspiration just as I am sure Jolene was inspired by something she saw on Pinterest. She’s not the first person to do a mirror wall, I’m telling you that,” Sev justified.

They also planned to reveal their long-awaited rooftop terrace — the main reason they chose their house — even though it remained unapproved by the council.

Close to broke after failing to win a room, Chantel and Wyatt desperately needed the $50,000 and a moral boost after weeks of harsh judging.

The pair devised a lazy strategy to welcome buyers through the back entrance to hide the garage debris and save time on cleaning, but Foreman Dan quickly put the kybosh on the plan.

Disappointed that gym time would have to wait, Wyatt still found silver linings, using the moment to crack jokes about nobody being allowed near his backdoor.
