Singer-songwriter Tones & I has listed one of her two Byron Bay investment properties, just as she prepares to join the coaching panel for the 15th season of The Voice Australia.
The Dance Monkey hit maker, whose name is Toni Watson, purchased the Bangalow Rd home for $2.125m in 2022 through her company, Johnny Run Away, named after her breakthrough 2019 debut single.
The guide is $1.69m, showing how much the market has come off its pandemic-driven boom.
The sale comes at a tumultuous time in the singers life, as confirmation of her separation from husband Jimmy Bedford appeared to come on Thursday.

Watson has not publicly confirmed the separation, yet Bedford posted to social media that he is now expecting a child with his new partner, Faith Elizabeth Miller.
The post included a picture of Miller’s pregnancy scan, captioned: “Baby budgy coming 27.”
Watson and Bedford married in Bali three years ago but have not been seen together in public for a long time, sparking rumours the couple had split as early as March 2026.

“Well, we weren’t planning on spreading the news until after the single dropped but I MARRIED my best friend,” Watson wrote at the time.
Meanwhile, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage on the market became a $1,250 a week rental in 2023, and was up for rent again last year, at the same price.
The potential rental income is now given as $1,250 per week by Scot Fuller of Fuller and Co Property.

The Byron Bay house median peaked in 2022 $3.5m, and has slipped to $2.87m, according to PropTrack, based on 99 house sales in the past year.
The Mornington Peninsula-based Watson has extensively renovated the 1950s home.
The home was Watson’s second purchase in Byron, where she lived out of a van for several years and busking before she released her first single Johnny Run Away.

The singer has owned the home for four years.
The Byron Bay market has softened.
She released Dance Monkey in 2019, which propelled her to international fame, topping the official singles charts in over 38 countries.
The song broke the record for the most weeks at number one on the Australian singles chart at 24 non-consecutive weeks.
It was a year after song was released that Watson spent $3.3m on a 1000 sqm holding on the outskirts of Byron Bay, comprising two separate homes, Starr Cottage and Skye Lodge.

Skye Lodge remains one of the area’s better-known short term luxury holiday homes, with the seven-bedroom Balinese-style residence operating as a premium accommodation alongside the neighbouring Starr Cottage.
It is priced at $1.1k a night in the off season. It is mostly booked over peak season already, with some midweek days available just over $2000 a night.
Starr Cottage, with four bedrooms and a pool, rents at around $867 per night in off-season and nearly $3000 a night in peak season.
