Offbeat home updates are officially trending—and for now, they won’t hurt your resale value.
“Whimsymaxxing” is the latest viral lifestyle movement. Items that have no business being bedazzled are suddenly being covered in rhinestones and minimalism is taking a backseat to maximalism.
Naturally, this whimsical mindset has made its way to home interiors, with influencers showing off their eclecticly-thrifted residences. But it seems as though the trend is also having an impact offline, where luxury buyers are seeking out amenities beyond what’s typically offered in high-priced homes.
While gyms, pools, and spa-like bathrooms were once enough to knock buyers off their feet, a new crop of lavish listings in Florida suggests they’re ready to level-up.
Offerings such as private bowling alleys, unique sports courts, and even custom DJ booths are really turning heads these days, like in these listing with most playful features currently available or soon to come to the luxury market.
The West Palm Beach Spot for those with a competitive streak
Targeted for a 2029 completion, Nora House in West Palm Beach will be an ideal home for anyone who likes to get a little bit competitive.
The 117-residence building will include a series of luxury rooftop amenities, including a bowling alley planned to look like a retro den, a golf simulator, pickleball courts, two pools, and a sports and game lounge.
For those who don’t like to keep score, there’s plenty of fun to be had at one of the poolside bars that boasts views of the city and the ocean.
A Ritz-Carlton Residence that channels vacation vibes year-round
The Ritz-Carlton Residences at Fort Lauderdale Beach is a boutique, dual-tower development on a striking waterfront stretch of the city.
The real fun to be had is in the collection’s shared spaces, which include a multi-sport simulator and a private screening room.
With pools, cabanas, and an outdoor bar pavilion, everyday life at the Ritz-Carlton feels more vacation.
When it’s time to wind down, spa amenities are also available, such as a sauna and cold plunges, a mosaic-tiled steam room, and dedicated treatment rooms available on an appointment basis.
Enjoy Miami’s nightlife without leaving home
Miami’s Palm Tree Residences were co-founded by Myles Shear and famed Norwegian DJ, Kygo.
Still in the pre-construction phase, the 35-story tower includes plans to feature a rooftop pool with a dedicated DJ booth.
The collection of residences isn’t all about partying, though. There’s also a focus on wellness, with a calming fitness center, a climbing wall, a golf simulator, and an outdoor padel court slated to be offered to those who will call Palm Tree home.
A North Miami Building Satisfies a Need for Speed
The Continuum 12000 building in North Miami is currently in pre-construction, but once it’s complete, it will be bursting at the seams with activities.
Plans include an F1 simulator, a pickleball court, and a private putting green terrace… and those are just the amenities that can be enjoyed no matter the weather.
Outside, the building will offer access to 1.5 acres of Biscayne Bay, with a floating pool, a water-play zone, and access to Seabob water sleds.
A Family-Friendly High Rise in Miami’s Financial District
Who says little ones can’t enjoy the lavish life, too? 2200 Brickell in Miami has a one-acre rooftop, and even features a “Little Oasis” as a dedicated play area for kids. The space was custom-designed by Silver Hill Arts, and is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for children.
The rooftop also includes a pickleball court, an outdoor gaming area, and a quarter-mile walking track that will leave no excuse for residents to go to bed without getting all their steps in.
There’s also a lounge and workshop for cyclists.
