It took just over a week for this “not for the faint-hearted” home to find a new owner.
EIS Property senior consultant Deb Stephens said there was no shortage of inquiry for the historic Moonah home.
She fielded multiple offers within days of it hitting the market, and it is now sold.
The 1918-built three-bedroom Federation Queen Anne residence at No.48 Station St was listed at “Offers over $450,000”.
Ms Stephens said the property attracted five offers after 50 people inspected it.
“It sold for $515,000, a cash offer, having been on the market for nine days,” she said.
“An experienced local tradesman purchased it.
“It was a really good result, the owners are happy.”

Ms Stephens said the majority of the inquiry came from builders and developers.
“It is the type of property that needs a full renovation to bring it back to its past glory,” she said.
“It is heritage-listed, and it has General Business zoning.
“Some potential buyers saw its potential for that type of transformation. Another said, if they purchased it, they would live in it while restoring it.
“In the past, an owner sold wood from the backyard of this 858sq m property. The old weighbridge is still in the yard.
“It’s a property that has so much potential in so many ways — as a home, or business. And the position would be great for either use.”

In keeping with its era, the house has four main rooms.
The rear kitchen and bathroom need a full makeover and are currently unusable.
There are original floorboards ready to be restored, alongside beautiful period details like the fireplaces.
The front veranda is in its original location, however, it has been enclosed and could be opened up again to restore the traditional Federation look.
