Archer and Albert, Chatswood is a new 32-storey-tower, close by Chatswood Chase and the Metro.

Downsizers and young families have moved quickly to snap up apartments off the plan at a new designer high-rise in the centre of Chatswood.

The developer of Archer & Albert, Coronation Property, reported $50m in sales in two hours at the public launch, with the three and two-bedroom residences the most popular.

“Achieving $50m in sales within the first two hours was a strong response, particularly for the larger residences,” Coronation’s head of sales, Cameron Porter, said.

The 32-storey building is just one block from the retail core.

Chatswood Chase and Westfield Chatswood are about 350m away, and the Metro, The Concourse, the library and the dining along Victoria Avenue are all within an easy walk.

More than 150 groups inspected over the two days.

The development offers one-bedroom units priced from $1.205m, two bedrooms from $2.145m, three bedrooms from $3.29m and four-bedroom apartments from $6.48m.

The three-bedroom and two-bedroom residences were first to go.

Buyers loved the space and quality.

Mr Porter said the strong result reflected strong demand for larger-format homes in well-connected, established neighbourhoods.

“We saw buyers prioritising space, quality and location, particularly those who already live in Chatswood or the surrounding Lower North Shore and want to stay connected to the area,” he said.

The buyer mix was broader than a typical apartment launch.

Downsizers moving out of larger family homes in Roseville, Lindfield and Killara accounted for a significant share, alongside owner-occupiers already living in Chatswood.

Young families also bought, drawn by the schools and by the convenience of living in the centre of the suburb.

Coronation Property Managing Director Joseph Nahas said Archer & Albert represented an important step in the company’s expansion into Sydney’s North Shore.

Tim Rees, of SRM Residential, says the the launch showed the depth of the local demand.

Mr Rees said there was strong interest across Chatswood and the Lower North Shore.

“Archer & Albert is Coronation’s first Build-to-Sell project on the North Shore, so the response gives us a great deal of confidence in the decision to enter this market,” Nahas said.

“We knew we needed to bring something considered to Chatswood, larger homes, strong architecture and a project that contributes to the neighbourhood beyond the residences themselves.

“To see buyers respond so strongly at launch is a very positive endorsement of that approach.”

Selling agent Tim Rees of SRM Residential said the launch demonstrated the depth of local demand.

“We’ve had a very strong response from buyers across Chatswood and the Lower North Shore who have been waiting for this type of offering in what we consider to be one of the best locations in Chatswood,” Mr Rees said.

Buyers love the location.

“It has the convenience buyers want, moments from the Metro, Chatswood Chase, dining and everything the centre of Chatswood has to offer, while still feeling distinctly residential.

“That combination of location, amenity and residential character has really resonated with the market.”

The larger floorplans are generous by the standards of new apartment stock on the North Shore.

Two-bedroom residences start from 94 sqm and three-bedroom homes run from 128 sqm to 234 sqm.

Most take in long and largely uninterrupted outlooks to the east, north and west.

Designed by Woods Bagot, Archer & Albert will deliver 150 residences across 32 levels, alongside a new landscaped public lawn, a pedestrian connection between Archer and Bertram streets, a restored 1898 heritage home that will open as a daytime cafe, and three ground-floor restaurants framing a landscaped courtyard.

Coronation is both developer and builder of Archer & Albert, giving it control over design quality, construction and delivery.

Excavation is well underway with the tower crane scheduled to go up in October, with completion expected in the second half of 2028.
