Paul Hogan is an Aussie icon and has been quite the property mogul over the years as well.
Australian icon, comedian and actor Paul Hogan has made his way back on home soil but although he was once a big property mogul across both the US and Australia he has slowly offloaded and cashed in on his properties over the years.
Paul ‘Hoges’ Hogan, 86, known for his starring role in Crocodile Dundee, has made a return to Aussie shores a number of times this year, being spotted at Sydney Airport and accompanied by family after living in the US for decades.
He revealed only four months earlier he hoped to move back to Australia for good, yet property insiders say he is yet to make any flashy new purchases since returning home and is likely laying low with family.

He also told 7News in September he was still tied to the US while supporting his son Chance, who was still building his career.
“I wanna die (in Australia) here,” he said.
“He’s still trying to build his career up and as soon as he does I’ll be back here, unless he comes with me.”

Over the decades Hogan, born in Lightning Ridge in outback NSW, has called Granville, Chullora, Mosman, Seaforth, Belrose, Vaucluse, Byron Bay and Los Angeles home.
Reports allege he had a run-in with the ATO which caused him to offload a few of his properties. He has denied this, saying he had two houses in LA and didn’t need them both.
The Hollywood star’s real estate empire has now dwindled as he’s offloaded many of his homes over the years. Here’s a look into many of the homes he’s owned and sold.

Early days
Hogan’s early days dabbling in real estate started in Mosman according to reports, with his first wife Noelene Edward.
The first property was purchased for $45,000 in 1973 which they then reportedly sold for $46,500 a year later when they purchased a new home in Seaforth, for $71,750.
They made a windfall of about $46,250 when it sold for $118,000 in 1979.
They then moved to Belrose and lived on acreage – more than 8000 sqm – purchasing the home for just $78,000.
The couple married in their teens, and divorced in 1981, to then remarry a year later. That was also short-lived and ended in 1986. Their home however wasn’t sold until 1998 for $2.16m according to property data.

Byron Bay Hinterland
The famous hinterland estate owned and built by Hogan himself, Cedar Springs, was sold in 2006 for $8.1 million.
He built the house for his wedding to his second wife in 1990 when he married Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski.
Hogan’s 132-hectare hinterland holding at Possum Creek, near Byron Bay, was his last residential address in Australia before making the move to permanently live in the US for the next three decades.
Duncan and Sally Mount purchased the property, and sold it at a loss in 2017 for $6.5m.

Los Angeles empire
Having moved over to the US for his career in the early 90s, Hogan made many savvy purchases while living there.
He lived in popular LA locales including Venice Beach, Malibu and Santa Barbara.
In 2012, he listed one of his LA properties – his four-bedroom Malibu home that overlooked the Pacific Ocean — with a listing price of $US6.5m.

Hogan bought the Malibu home in 2009 for US$6.45m, according to reports at the time.
The Venice home he held on to a bit longer until 2015, when the LA Times reported he sold his remodelled 1920s gated compound for $US1.995m.
The home was bought with wife Kozlowski in 2013 for $1.585m.
The couple divorced in 2014. Hogan and Kozlowski were together for 24 years before she filed for divorce in 2014 citing irreconcilable differences.

Hogan continued to live in Venice Beach, with reports showing his mansion is worth about US$3.5m mansion.
He was having issues however with the homeless community in his neighbourhood and crime that had spiked in the popular LA neighbourhood.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Hogan was seen writing a stern note on his front door that said: ‘THIS IS MY HOUSE, NOT YOURS.’

The investment was a commercial block of offices in Parramatta.
Reports show he purchased it in 1988 for $13.6 million.
