A rare chance to live in the Daylesford housing estate next door to the five homes of this year’s popular renovation reality show The Block, is up for grabs with a striking off-the-plan home hitting the market.

Filming of the 21st season of the hit reality renovation program wrapped a few weeks ago where the new cast of Blockheads overhauled five homes, which will form a new neighbourhood within Hygge Property’s Middleton Field estate.

Alba House – to be built at 3 Chaplain Street, Daylesford – is a one off design featuring four bedrooms and two bathrooms with picturesque views of the tree-lined Raglan Street.

The new estate, located at the regional tree-change town’s eastern entry point, has a strong focus on ‘design-led sustainable living’ and all new homes will be carbon-neutral and will solely rely on electricity and eliminating the use of gas.

Designed by regional builder Oasis, Alba House is priced at $859,000 and will be set on a big 855sqm block, and will feature double glazed windows, custom designed cabinetry, Haier appliances and a spacious open-plan living area.

The rear garage will also connect to the laundry and the butler’s pantry.

“These designs have been specifically designed for these land lots, especially given the shape and the location as well,” sales agent Ashlee McKee from Belle Property Daylesford

“Oasis is quite different to other builders, where they work with people like what a draftsperson does, helping them shape and build the design that they’re looking for in a house.”

Ms McKee said the off-the-plan listing was a rare opportunity to buy in a project where The Block homes were, and land titles were expected in the coming weeks.

Within Middleton Field, there will be a mix of townhouses, land, as well as house and land packages for sale.

“What’s different about this project is that there is a variety of different land sizes available, starting from your 530sqm up to 800sqm and it has a really beautiful flow through to it as well,” Ms McKee said

“It really takes in the surrounding landscape, from Wombat Park to the views of the Botanical Gardens.

“It’s such a great location as well. You’re walking distance into town, you’re across the road from cafes and bars and then the Daylesford Sunday markets as well.”

Belle Property Daylesford principal Will Walton – whose company sold the Raglan Street site to the Nine Network where the five Block homes have been built – previously told realestate.com.au that from the street the final Block homes looked appealing.

“The facades are all looking very interesting from what can be seen from the street,” he said.

“There’s a mix of brick and wood and architectural cladding.”
