Fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines has bought a Gold Coast mansion
Fitness influencer Kayla Itsines has splashed $13 million on a spectacular waterfront mansion, ending a frustrating search for her next trophy home.
The Sweat app co-founder and her husband, Jae Woodroffe, had been quietly scouring the Gold Coast’s hot prestige market, inspecting multiple properties across some of southeast Queensland’s richest suburbs.
The couple even considered renting, before finally snapping up the Mermaid Waters dream home ahead of its scheduled auction later this month.

Their showstopping estate on a 2280 sqm triple block has a whopping 81.5m of water frontage.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home’s luxury features include a tennis court, infinity pool, cocktail bar, wine cellar, built-in trampoline, lavish marble entertaining terrace, and a pontoon and boat shed at the water’s edge.
Itsines, one of the world’s top wellness influencers with a social media following of more than 15 million, admitted the hunt for the perfect property had not been easy, prompting her to engage a buyer’s agent.
The five-bedroom home has a tropical colonial style.
“We struggled with the search initially, but since bringing Luke [Serhan] and the team at Cohen Handler on board we’ve built a really strong partnership,” she said.
“They’ve helped us access and secure the right properties at the right time, and we’re excited to continue working together as we grow our portfolio into the future.”
The acquisition adds to an already impressive property portfolio. In March 2024, Itsines sold her renovated 1920s bungalow in the Adelaide suburb of Malvern for a record-breaking $7.375m.
Her move to Queensland the same year brought her closer to her ex-fiancé and business partner, Tobi Pearce, with whom she shares a daughter, Arna. Itsines married Woodroffe in December 2023. The couple has a young son, Jax.
Itsines and Pearce rocketed to global fame with their Bikini Body Training guides before launching the wildly successful Sweat app.
The business was sold to US-based giant iFIT for a reported US$150m in 2021, before the duo bought it back in 2023, putting their estimated net worths at about $170m each.

Itsines’ new Mermaid Waters mega-mansion was initially scouted off-market before officially hitting the market with Gypsea Youngsmith and Michael Kollosche, of Kollosche.
Cohen Handler Gold Coast agent Luke Serhan, who negotiated the deal for Itsines, said landholdings of this scale were exceptionally scarce.
“When clients operate at Kayla’s level of global profile, the process becomes about far more than simply finding a property,” Mr Serhan said.
“It’s about opening doors to opportunities that are rarely visible to the broader market and ensuring the acquisition aligns with both lifestyle and sound investment strategy.”
Design features include marble tiling.
There’s even a tennis court.
Completed in 2023 by DB Build, the home took out the President’s Award at the 2024 Gold Coast Housing and Construction Awards.
Its Tropical Colonial design by Sydney architects Hicks and Holmsted is defined by pitched roofs, French doors and wide verandas.
“The overall effect is very much that of a private resort,” selling agent Gypsea Youngsmith said.
“You can move so easily between the house, the pool, the tennis court, and there’s so much space for kids to play freely in the gardens or fish from the shoreline.
“The lifestyle is incredible.”
Ms Youngsmith said the suburb was booming, with the latest $13m price tag sitting beneath Mermaid Water’s $14.005m residential record set last year.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The home has a walk-in wine cellar.
