No leases have been signed, but an electric motor company has received initial approval for a federal loan to open a factory in Rockdale, and company officials confirmed they’re looking at potentially locating it within the new campus. Ultimately, the site could host around 35 million square feet of development — although that could take years or even decades. “We believe in the potential of our project to drive job growth, prosperity and economic security to Texas for generations to come,” the CEO of the Dallas-based development firm behind the project says.
