A massive line-up of Australian sports stars from Olympic gold medallists to AFL champions have scored top-dollar property deals across 2025.

Big names including cricketing greats Pat Cummins and Michael Clarke, tennis player Nick Kyrgios, Olympic swimmer Libby Trickett, surfing ace Mick Fanning, former Collingwood forward and midfielder Alan Didak, Queensland Maroons’ captain Cameron Munster and ex-footballer Lance “Buddy” Franklin and his wife Jesinta have all made big moves on the property ladder.

Joining them is a host of other athletes including Sydney Swans’ midfielder Chad Warner who bought a riverside house in the Perth suburb of Applecross worth almost $2.9m, in January.

Later in the year, two-time AFL Brownlow medallist Chris Judd and his wife, businesswoman, Jaggad sportswear label co-founder and influencer Bec Judd, sold a retreat on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Public records show the three-bedroom house fetched $2.78m in May.

Marshall White Bayside director Ben Vieth declined to comment on the sold price, as did Morell and Koren buyers’ advocate Matthew Cleverdon who purchased the abode on behalf of a client.

Lance “Buddy” Franklin and Jesinta Franklin sold their Queensland mansion in November.

Another former footy player, ex-Magpie Alan Didak, earned $4m when his townhouse in Melbourne’s inner east sold in May, according to sales records.

The four-level residence featuring a lift, pool and a cocktail bar in the basement was listed through Marshall White Boroondara.

Didak scored a goal in the 2010 Collingwood grand final replay against St Kilda and also played in 2003 and 2002 grand finals.

A third AFL-related property that transacted in May was AFL Bombers’ vice-captain Andrew McGrath and then-fiance Emma Laughlin’s Victorian-era house in Albert Park, Melbourne.

The double-storey pad’s new owners snapped it up for $2.675m.

Kay & Burton partner James Driver and colleague Campbell Kilsby managed the sales campaign.

And there were more happy tidings in store for McGrath and Ms Laughlin when they married at a Queensland ceremony during November.

May also saw Olympic aerial-skiing gold medallist Alisa Camplin-Warner and her husband, Telstra group executive Oliver Camplin-Warner, sell their Melbourne house.

The couple’s circa-1886 home fetched $6.15m, records show, while Marshall White Boroondara director Chris Barrett had the listing.

In June, tennis star Nick Kyrgios offloaded his Sydney penthouse for $1.925m.

The three-bedroom home in the city’s inner south east hit the market after the 2022 Wimbledon semi-finalist split from his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi.

The penthouse boasts a 24 sqm rooftop terrace with views of the Blue Mountains.

As midwinter hit in July, basketball champion and Australian Olympian Matthew Dellavedova and wife Anna farewelled their house in Melbourne’s bayside suburb Sandringham for $4.522m.

They did so after Dellavedova, an ex-Melbourne United and Cleveland Cavaliers player, signed a three-year deal with the Sydney Kings.

Belle Property Sandringham principal director Fran Harkin said there was strong interest in the 1890s-built abode with about 45 buyers, mostly families, inquiring about the property before it sold.

Also in July, rugby league’s Queensland captain Cameron Munster was revealed to be a savvy property investor in addition to a top-of-the-line sportsman.

The former Melbourne Storm player owns multiple residences in the state, such as a three-bedroom home in Mooloolaba, which he purchased for $650,000 in 2020, and a four-bedroom home in Peregian Springs, which he bought for $575,000 in 2016.

In August, AFLW star Madison Prespakis and her partner, influencer, businesswoman and podcaster Sophie Shaw, bid goodbye to their house in Tullamarine, in Melbourne’s northwest.

The $1.165m deal that was inked by Matthews Agency director John Matthews.

Mr Matthews said an Adelaide-based buyer purchased the house who put in an offer $175,000 above the asking range’s upper end.

An abundance of September property sales involving Aussie athletes included

pro golfer Cameron Smith making a $10m Brisbane penthouse his own.

The off-market sale in the inner northern suburb New Farm equated to $47,000 per square metre for the pad formerly owned by the late businessman Eddie Phillips, widely known as the “Spa King”.

The Australian-born Smith, who lives in the US with wife Shanel Naoum and their child, said he would use the penthouse as a Brisbane base.

“Brisbane will always feel like home to me,” Mr Smith said.

“The penthouse has an incredible rooftop that really sold me.”

Place New Farm agent Heath Williams oversaw the sale.

The jet black-coloured property set on 1.7ha was sold through Sotheby’s International agent Peter Randall.

And AFL player Jack Silvagni sold a Melbourne house for $1.99m in September.

In 2025’s third quarter, Olympic swimming champion Libby Trickett and her entrepreneur husband, Luke, emerged as the buyers of a $20m mansion on Brisbane’s waterfront.

The five-bedroom house in the suburb of Hawthorne first made headlines when it was listed by the previous owner, Don Gardiner, known for founding Don Gardiner Chemists, and his wife Colleen.

The three-storey home featuring a swimming pool and tennis court was sold in a deal negotiated by Place New Farm’s Sarah Hackett.

Trickett was a gold medallist at the 2004, 2008, and the 2012 Olympics.

Lance “Buddy” Franklin and his wife Jesinta sold their mansion, named Villa Casa, in November.

Lance “Buddy” Franklin and wife Jesinta kicked a massive property goal when they sold their luxury mansion, named Villa Casa, on the Gold Coast, Queensland, in November.

The former AFL star and his fashion influencer wife listed the home with Whitefox Real Estate’s Dijana Speak and Nic Whitehead.

The sold price remains undisclosed but the couple paid $8.75m for the property in 2023.

Set on 4497sq m, the Mediterranean-inspired Villa Casa boasts hand-rendered lime walls, a main bedroom suite accessed via a vaulted tunnel, a terrace with built-in barbecue and a magnesium pool with a swim-up bar.

The Franklins have since downsized to a $4.6m Gold Coast property on Coomera River’s banks, featuring a modern farmhouse looking out to landscaped grounds and dams.

The Kollosche agency’s Kara Christensen and Bella Sorenson managed the sales campaign with the home selling in just 20 days.
