Okay, after yesterday’s heavy topic about long term care needs, I thought lets slow things down again with something about every day lives and frugality.
You might know that I use a Mini PC, specifically a Minisforum HM90 which I talked about in this post here. It comes with its bracket to secure the HM90 at the back of a monitor display. But I always wondered how we can secure the mini PC at the back of a monitor arm.

Turns out, there is this Mini PC Bracket that you can buy from AliExpress or Shopee such as the one above.
This bracket currently cost you S$14 and here is the model I bought it from:
- AliExpress: Mini PC VESA Bracket
- Shopee: [Note I did not buy this I think it looks similar]: Mini PC VESA Bracket
I bought this and it sat in my cabinet for a while. Recently, I decided to switch from using my 55 inch TV as monitor to a “smaller” 32 inch second hand 4K monitor and decide to see if I can set it up.
The metal plate feels very sturdy and robust.

The bracket comes with some simple instructions. You would secure one side to a mounting bracket or your monitor. Then secure the Mini PC to the other part.

The mount comes with a few different kind of screws and plastic to extend the Mini PC if you need it. I happen to need some of the plastic extension so those became handy.
Here is the back of my 4K second hand monitor:

There is a VESA mount holes, so I secured one side of the bracket (the left), TOGETHER with the bracket of my ULTI monitor arm to the VESA mount holes. I secure the bracket that comes with my Minisforum HM90 to the bracket on the right side.

I tested to see if the Mini PC can sit properly on the bracket. It does.

This is how it looks like when mounted to the Monitor arm. I think there is a world of difference between a mounted display and one that isn’t and this is where such a bracket would prove useful. It can help make cable organization neater and for your desk to look less cluttered.
I think the bracket and the PC might not be light, so make sure that your monitor arm can take all this weight. If not your display will just sink down.
